SHEEKGEEK paid a visit to Franks and had a ball. Excellent snacks and a view to die for...hang on until closing and you can watch the sun set over a picture postcard view of the London skyline. Even more crucially...Campari is back!
SHEEKGEEK got a very last minute ticket to see the Electric Hotel and boy were we glad that we did. We appreciate we're giving you virtually no notice, but if you're in London and you can make it by June 26th (Saturday) then go go go! Be sure to watch the video clip on their website if you can't make it.
We must say we're pretty excited about Sofia Coppola's new film Somewhere. Heavily featuring the Château Marmont, Los Angeles SHEEKGEEK are keen to see how LA fairs on the big screen with the Coppola touch. Its the same team behind Lost in Translation, so we're hoping for some hotel room magic once again. There's a long wait for its release over here though, so in the meantime you'll have to make do with the trailer.
SHEEKGEEK headed down to one of their favourite courtyard spots in London, to Somerset House for the fabulous Maison Martin Margiela '20' exhibition. We came away very inspired and also with a slight hankering after a white laboratory coat.
SHEEKGEEK looks forward to the opening of The Surreal House coming to the barbican Art Gallery on June tenth. We're particularly excited because we are informed that the work of Joseph Cornell (a serious SHEEKGEEK if ever there was) will be on display. Cornell is definitely one of SHEEKGEEK'S favourite artists and we heartily recommend reading Utopia Parkway if you can lay your hands on a copy.
When SHEEKGEEK first visited Present and Correct it was as if all their Christmases had come at once. They have the finest selection of new and old stationary and some of the loveliest greetings cards around. We've become a regular customer and we just love their aesthetic. Plus, as if all of this wasn't enough they even publish a "list of the week" 10/10 we say!
Here at SHEEKGEEK, we can't help but find the work of Polly Morgan utterly captivating. We saw her work most recently at the fantastic show called "The Age of the Marvellous." We can't wait for her solo show in July at Haunch of Venison , another SHEEKGEEK favourite.
